Crandall, Roberts Honored

David Crandall and Michael Roberts were among 15 U.S. Department of Energy executives chosen to be designated as "Meritorious Executives" within the U. S. government. The award is a "Presidential Rank Award" and recipients are chosen for their "exceptional long-term accomplishments" within the Federal Service. The recipients are first nominated by their respective agencies and are then evaluated by boards of private citizens and approved by the President. The evaluation criteria focus on leadership and results.

Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman said he was proud to announce that the DOE recipients were among the 297 executives receiving Presidential Rank Awards for 2006. The award carries a cash stipend of 20% of the recipient's base salary and a certificate signed by the President.
