FESAC Meeting Scheduled

January 31, 2007

A meeting of the U. S. Department of Energy's Fusion Energy Sciences Advisory Committee (FESAC) is scheduled for March 1-2, 2007 at the Rio Washingtonian Marriott hotel in Gaithersburg, Maryland. FESAC is chaired by Stewart Prager of the University of Wisconsin. FESAC last met in June 2006.

FESAC has two charges currently pending: (1) to provide recommendations on how the US fusion program should evolve over the coming decade, taking into account new and upgraded international experiments and (2) to conduct a review and rate the fusion program's progress towards achieving its long-range Program Assessment Rating Tool measures. A panel on the latter is being chaired by Gerald Navratil (Columbia University).
